IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ!!!!! We have many deliveries throughout the course of the day, so please be on time at the LOCATION that you have chosen, if you are running late you can reach us by dialing our business number. Or if you know in advance please email us. We set up these locations purposely to be close to a retail store (Petsmart, PETCO, shopping mall) in the event that you would need to locate supplies, eg; food, dishes, bowls, treats, toys, etc. before you take your bird home. All of our birds are ordered via phone, or our website & thus selected & delivered as PER YOUR specifications. When we deliver our birds they will be READY in a fully ventilated box with wood shavings & a small amount of food for the trip back home.
You will be given bird's PAPERWORK (Guarantee, Hatch Cert, DNA cert(if ordered), OASIS AVIARY business cards, along with your receipt in an envelope, ready to go! We realize that you may have questions or concerns at the time of delivery, but please keep those in mind now & contact us via email so that we may be more able (time wise) to discuss them at length with you.
The places that we have selected are PUBLIC places, we do that also for your safety as well as ours, while at the same time please realize that this is NOT a "viewing or interacting" area for you to GET AQUAINTED with your bird. This type of method is not beneficiery to the initial interaction process betweeen you & your new bird. So we will not remove the bird from it's box so that you may view it or interact with it indivually, this you will need to do at home in the comfort and controlled situation of the birds new home environment.
Once you take your bird home, you can always contact us with regards to any questions or concerns that you may have- we are ALWAYS here for you & our little birds that are leaving OUR NEST to go to YOURS. :)
REMEMBER OUR BIRDS ARE GUARANTEED!
Bringing a Carrier/Cage: IT IS NOT REQUIRED, but you may bring a carrier WITH YOU, to transfer your bird from the box that we provide to your carrier/cage, for larger species of birds- Cockatoos, Senegals, etc. Otherwise, for small species- eg finches, lovebirds, parakeets, cockatiels, parrotlets- they will be delivered in a fully ventilated box & you may transfer the baby bird as you wish in your CLOSED vehicle or sometimes the birds themselves may feel more comfortable remaining in the dark safety of the box for the trip back home. It may remind them of their nest as babies.
If the weather is inclement, cold, raining, excessively windy, etc. There will be a speedy exchange of the bird from one vehicle to another so that the bird (who has just come from a heated & climate controlled nursery)will not be subjected to a drastic change in temp & climate. You can also bring a blanket or cover for the carrier/cage/box to help protect the bird AND to help it make the transition calm & quiet.
If you are traveling a long distance, make sure that you bring along with you bottled water and food for your bird to make his trip more comfortable (don't forget food & water dishes in the cage or carrier)
NOTE: WE ONLY USE "OPEN WATER DISHES" on our birds, they are not trained to drink from a bottle.
When traveling with your bird back home it's a good idea to place the birds cage on the floor board of the car or have someone to hold it in the event of sudden stops. Birds have been known to be injured when placed on the back seat of a car & then the cage flys off the seat, injuring the birds wing or worse.
Please remember to be considerate of the baby bird that you have in the car with you, don't leave the bird unattended in a hot or cold car while you stop by the grocery store on your way home,(this is why it's a good idea to bring someone along with you for the ride.
Remember it's like having a human baby, you must take responsibility for it's life.
