On all small birds shipped through USPS EXPRESS (except finches & Canaries) if they arrive overnight or second day. We do not guarantee bird/s if they are delayed by USPS or the AIRLINES, as once our birds leave our location we have no control regarding these circumstances, also we have no control over the weather. Birds are shipped weather permitting.

On deliveries delayed in route by USPS as this would be beyond our control.We will not guarantee birds that do not arrive within 48 hrs from the time they are shipped from our location. IMPORTANT INFO: The following information concerning USPS EXPRESS SHIPPING must be given, however we have NOT had an accident or issue in all the years that we have dealt with the USPS EXPRESS SHIPPING METHOD. Please rest assured that the following is NOT TYPICAL, but information that we have been given from the Postal Office for your information only & this is the policy of OASIS EXOTIC BIRDS, LLC policy. You are agreeing to this policy when you place your order for birds with us and complete the online purchase agreement. Which is placed in our permanent file.
If a bird(s) is DOA (when you inspect it AT THE POST OFFICE) you, the buyer must contact us immediately. If you do not contact us by phone or e-mail within 8 hours after receiving your birds, all guarantees are void. If shipment was not delayed, we will replace the DOA bird(s)**(see note) provided that they were not mishandled by the usps service in any manner. If the box is visibly damaged you MUST file a claim immediately with the US Postal Service, please DO NOT contact OASIS, as this is out of our control. However, if the bird/s are DOA (when you inspect the box at the time of pickup- we will need to have a verified statement from the postal service stating this, for verification) at no charge or credit the cost of the DOA bird(s) on a future order (No money refunds are given). Your refund will be in the form of a single replacement bird or a store credit. Any credits given must be used within 30days). All shipping costs and replacement shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility. The majority of the small birds we sell are not banded. If a bird arrives DOA, you must immediately freeze the bird in a sealed plastic ziplock baggie & ship the bird with all documentation back to us within 3 days from the date you received your birds. The reason we ask for the bird back is so our vet can perform a necropsy to determine the cause of death. You must ship the bird in a padded envelope or padded, insulated small box, supplied with a freezer pack to ensure the bird will remain frozen in transit. All shipping costs to be borne by the buyer. If you need further information on the return process contact us. USPS EXPRESS does a good job and most birds shipped handle the trip very well. WE DO NOT guarantee shipment of Finches or Canaries through USPS EXPRESS or AIRLINE. It is our belief that they tend to stress faster than other birds and shipping via airline is much faster and less stressful to them than shipping USPS, however we don't guarantee a live arrival even with the airline. However, we have shipped countless Finches & Canaries through USPS or Delta at the owner's request with no problems. If you choose to accept Finches & or Canaries through either of these shipping methods we can not be held responsible for shipping this species of bird, buyer accepts full responsibility for the birds, either shipped USPS EXPRESS or DELTA. This is our policy. The decision to ship or not to ship is exclusively YOUR decision. If you do not wish to accept our shipping terms for finches or canaries you must make arrangements to pick your birds up at our retail location.
For all other birds shipped- NOTE **We will only replace a bird ONE TIME, provided all the requirements are fullfilled regarding the shipping of the deceased bird back to Oasis. If the second/ or consequent replacement bird dies during shipment or upon arrival or during the first 7 days WE WILL NOT replace the "Replacement" bird. Their will be no exceptions.

When you ship via Continental your birds will be shipped in a complete temperate & pressure controlled environment, shipping allowed any time of the year through Continental.
The birds will arrive at your destination in just a matter of hours. After booking the flight you will receive a confirmation email stating the arrival date & time that your bird will be available for pickup. You will pick up your bird at the live pet cargo area of your airport. (check with your local airport to see if they have this service). Your bird will be in an airline approved carrier, complete with perch, water, pellets & seed. Your crate is reusable & handy for those future vet check ups, or travel. The cost of shipping includes this carrier. Your bird will be insured for the total value. And will remain insured while in flight, transit at the airport, and while in the custody of the cargo area until you leave the cargo area. Check on the bird once received & if there is a problem you must file a claim there before you leave. Once you leave the Live Cargo Area with your bird the the Oasis Guarantee is null & void. Don't worry the majority of our birds are shipped with no problems at all!

PLEASE NOTE SHIPPING TO HAWAII ON EITHER AIRLINES:
You must obtain an import permit from the state Department of Agriculture, (808) 837-8092, and send us a copy of this. There is a West Nile Permit requirement as well as the usual health certificate requirement. This is now called the Poultry and Bird Import Permit. The bird must be boarded at a veterinarian's office for seven days in order to meet the West Nile Permit requirements. The cost for all of this is approximately $250.00.
Airline Temperature Restrictions
Continental Airlines can ship ALL year around. There are no temperature restrictions at most of their airports. Delta has specifications regarding temperatures, see www.deltacargo.com for details.
Carriers: Your bird/s will be placed in a Airline Approved Pet Carrier that will have adequate food & moisture/water supply for their destination. The carrier is included in the price & we do not charge extra for it. It is nice for future trips or visits to the vet for wing/nail clipping,etc.
We know the best airline approved carriers to use for the various species we raise. Carriers are reusable for trips to the vet or future travelling. We know how to provide enough food and moisture during transit and carefully mark the carriers with "Live Animal" stickers, the shipper's and consignee's contact information, as well as the destination airport information.

They have a different shipping system than Delta. Delta ONLY ships if outdoor temperature upon arrival is between 45 degrees and 85 degrees at both departure location & destination location. We use Delta as much as possible because it is cheaper. We use Continentalif there is severe weather forecasted, the choice is yours- there is a price difference. Both are safe. Your birds are not shipped with luggage but in a special pressureized compartment on the plane. They will not come out on the baggage carousel, a representative will hand-carry your bird and it is delivered to the ticket counter or cargo facility, for immediate pickup.

Health Certificates
Health certificates can be obtained for an additional cost of $80 for those states requiring them. It is not the responsibility of OASIS AVIARY to ensure that a health certificate accompanies your bird in transit, you must contact local government in your state if your state requires that you have one at the time of shipping. Most states do not.
Shipping REQUIREMENTS
YOU must contact your local airport first to inquire that they receive LIVE CARGO (birds) at that location. Some airports do not have one. In this instance, we can ship to the closest one to you that does. We will ship the birds to your requested airport destination, but it is your responsibility to secure this information yourself & relay that information to us. Oasis does not call the destination airports to obtain flight/cargo information.

Shipping (USPS EXPRESS) for SMALL BIRD SPECIES ONLY (finches, parakeets, lovebirds, etc.) We do not ship Large Species birds via this method, eg; Cockatoos, Macaws, African Greys, etc.
THE COST IS $65 MO/IL all other states $85 (includes shipping container/crate, several birds may be shipped together depending on the species.) If you live in states not connected to ILLINOIS, your shipping cost for USPS EXPRESS shipping is $85.00 (up to 10 small birds-example FINCHES, or 5 larger birds, example COCKATIELS. Cost may vary according to weight of bird/s & destination. Example, states further west of the Mississippi require an add'l fee.

(the Postal Service guarantees OASIS AVIARY shipment within 48. We do NOT issue refunds or credits for shipping via USPS EXPRESS. ALL SHIPPING CHARGES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Your distance from our shipping location doesn't necessarily reflect the time that your shipment will take to arrive at your location. Locations closest to major airport hubs generally recieve shippments faster as the post office contracts LIVE BIRD shipments via FED-EX airlines then routes them to your local post office. The majority of our orders that we ship out middle week before 5:00pm will arrive next day or early morning day after next. The US POSTAL SERVICE considers birds to be "perishable" and does not accept any liabilty/responsibility for any birds that arrive dead unless there is clear evidence that the box has been crushed or mishandled in some way. We do guarantee live delivery (except Gouldian finches) if the birds are shipped OVERNIGHT, or SECOND DAY DELIVERY. We DO NOT guarantee the birds if delayed in route as this would be beyond our control. Please be informed that we cannot control the exact date & time of arrival or the route taken as when they leave our aviary these issues are completely out of our control. And we can accept no responsibility. However, the USPS POSTAL SERVICE continues to do & has done an excellant job in the past of delivering our birds safely to their destination. They are placed with USPS PERSONELL in a climate controlled environment & then transported in a climate controlled environment to their destination. When the birds are shipped we will email you with a USPS EXPRESS tracking number. Please insure that the US POST OFFICE will be able to contact you with the contact numbers that you provide us with. When your birds arrive you are expected to pick them up & sign for them as soon as they arrive at the post office. Some post offices will deliver your birds to your address, but prior arrangements must be made between you and your post office, this is not our responsibility, nor do we know if they will deliver your bird to your door. You MUST CONTACT your LOCAL POST OFFICE for this information. Although for the protection of the birds it is better is they are picked up at the post office as soon as they arrive to decrease the amount of transport that they will be subject to.

The boxes are provided by HORIZON-MICRO ENVIRONMENTS and are approved by US POSTAL SERVICE for shipping LIVE BIRDS. A perch/stick is inserted into each box. Water/MOISTURE is provided in the form of Orange or fruit slices & seed is scattered on the floor of the box. Along with litter for absorption purposes.
we WILL NOT ship birds when temperatures are forecast to be below 30 degrees or above 85 degrees from either the departure location or the arrival location. Unless we have specific approval from the USPS office here locally.

Flight Information
Flight times are mutually agreed upon by both OASIS AVIARY and the customer. The customer is supplied with the airline, flight number(s), air waybill number, and flight arrival time prior to departure. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport no later than the expected flight arrival time so that your bird is not waiting at the airport for any length of time. Customers will receive a confirmation call from us on the day of shipment. PICK UP YOUR BIRD/S AT THE LIVE CARGO AREA OF YOUR AIRPORT. A return call or e-mail to OASIS AVIARY informing us that the bird(s) arrived safely is greatly appreciated.
Shipping Charges
Shipping charges vary from one airline to another, but generally range between $150 - $250 nationwide. These charges include counter to counter shipping and the airline approved carrier. ALL SHIPPING CHARGES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
How the birds are shipped(AIRLINES)
Birds are shipped counter to counter service from ST LOUIS INTERNATIONAL/LAMBERT AIRPORT in St Louis, MO to most major airports within the U.S. This service provides that the birds are the last on and first off the plane and are hand carried. The birds fly in the pressurized, climate controlled cargo section of the plane (Continental). YOU WILL PICK UP YOUR BIRD(S) AT THE LIVE CARGO DESK @ YOUR LOCAL AIRPORT. PLEASE CALL THEM FOR INFORMATION.
